    Contracting Abroad

Just thought i'd ask what countries you guys recommend for a good salary / life balance..
Myself I worked three years in Madrid for Sun (permie) and loved it, but came back to the UK because the wages were low and pick up some new skills and contract for a while. In the long run I'd love to try another country but I dont know what kind of places offer the same contractor benefits as the UK system..

    Any recommendations?
The mind is its own place, and in itself, can make a Heaven of Hell, a Hell of Heaven

Do you mean salary/life balance, or are you looking for the best of both worlds?

    I know I am

What is even sadder is I'm posting from a PDA whilst wandering up a rather large hill.

Politicians are wonderfull people, as long as they stay away from things they don't understand, like working for a living!

Are you looking at your belly right now?
I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light.

No, he's lying on his back in a crater looking up at the caldera rim thinking "feck, how did I end up here?"
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson
