    anyone got an automatic?

I was looking at the new VW Passat with a DSG gearbox. It's meant to be quite good as it's the one with the dual clutch. Anybody got any thoughts on driving an automatic?

If I remember rightly the paddles are an option for VW; otherwise you just get the standard DSG with sequential option using the stick.

got an automatic 5 speed box, has the option to manually select gears.

The shifting isn't fast but it is adequately quick enough, damn smooth on the lexus too

I generally only have it on fully automatic when i'm on the motorway and/or wanting to use the cruise control.

          I drive an auto...

Phone call, fag, coffee and battery shaver all on the go, at the same time, no problemo...

Got an auto Merc and it is brilliant - would struggle to get back into a geared car now to be honest.

I know some might say it's lazy, but hey if the technology's there.......

Also dual clutch is meant to be able to change gears at 300th of second so ultra smooth too.

see what the guys on http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk say.

I haven't too many good things about the new Passat in terms of reliability.
