    2.35 billion pounds

The 2005 estimated cost for the 2012 Olympics was 2.35 billion pounds.

The new, 2007 revised estimate is 9 billion pounds! That's up fourfold in 19 months - doesn't anyone in this government have a clue of how to manage money?

What will the final cost be FFS? And who will pay for it?

Some drone on the breakfast news this morning said it's because there are a lot of unexploded bombs on the site, so the Germans should pay.

Would it have been better if they actually exploded?

Well, it would have cleared the site in good time.

Someone probably found out that there was once a nuclear reactor on the site and thought that it was a good excuse to ratchet up the price by a lot.

Lord bleeding Seb Coe should be held accountable... is it too late to give it back to Paris?
It's all going to end in tears
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

To cover that increase, inflation would have to be running at 250%.
