    Permie Kicks Off!!

I’m witnessing the mother of all rants this lunchtime. One of the permies is on a ‘spit & vinegar’ session having been informed that he’s about to take on part of the work done by a lass who’s about to go on 9 month’s maternity leave. (Apparently, this is her third sprog). It doesn’t help that he has to cover every time she wicks off from work when one of her other kids is ill. As you can guess, he hasn’t got kids.

Amusing to watch as it is, I’m inclined to agree. I acknowledge anyone’s right to breed but I don’t see why I’d have to put in the extra work because of someone else’s life-style decision. It’s bad enough letting parents into the pub to let their little urchins run around like it’s a ******* crèche. As you can guess, I don’t have kid either!

Well he's the mug for letting it happen, just tell him that and laugh in his face

Office politics, it’s great not to be involved.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

I don't think the guy has much choice. Too much pressure to conform with 'family freindly' work policies and all that b0ll0x. Challenge it and you're some kind of misogynistic trouble maker. Not to mention the fact that some of the feminists in the office would leap at a chance to cut any bloke's balls off.

The power of political correctness to repress open debate. Don't ya just love living in Blair's Britain

Cheers shaunboy. Glad to see Denny didn't leave the forum in vain.

So, are you some kind of b0ll0ck-breaking feminist, too?

                You are probably right KYJelly.
Presumably you are one of the short-sighted numpties that think the future would be a much rosier place if all your workmates did the sensible thing and never had kids? Try reading what you type before submitting it, or better still get one of the grown-ups to do it for you.

Boy, if I had a £1 for everytime someone thought up the 'KYJelly' jibe.

On a serious note, there are people out there who choose not to have kids and resent having to cover for those that do. Why should they?

Personally, I'd prefer to see parents stay at home and bring up their kids instead of making them fit in with career/work.

NL hasn't done anything to help parents do this, or acknowledge that people who chose not to parent are getting pretty hacked off with the consequences. What's galling is the assumption of breeding classes that the childless will pick up the reins on their behalf every time little Trinny or Tarquin sneezes.

I assume the Celtic club logo means you're a catholic and you've got at least 15 of the little buggers. Might explain the 'pro-sprog' stance.

And that is a "serious" note is it?
Because who do they imagine is going to wipe their skiddy @rses and change their bedpans for them in their frail dotage but the children of their workmates that they so selfishly and unnaturally seem to resent so much?
