How many contractors on here actually hold Security Clearance, like myself?? Be it SC or DV.

    Thanks

Trying to get it back. I can't believe they didn't make a point of keeping it up to date after I left the forces, on thier resettlement training. Doh!

You keep hold of it for 12 months after you leave the forces but after that, unless you are in a job where you require it, then you will lose it.

That what they didn't tell me about. You renewed it every 5/6 when in the forces.

I have SC at the moment, I used to have DV when working in Cheltenham but I don't use it now so it lapsed.

Unless you are prepared to be asked some very personal probing questions like have you had an affair? Or have you been with a prostitute? ...avoid DV.

Yeah every 5 years in the forces it was renewed. I have just had mine renewed, due to my current contract for 10yrs, but that would lapse if I was not in a SC contract for 12 months.
