    Happy St George's day chaps

What are we doing today to celebrate our patron saints day?

I am wearing my national flag and shall be greeting everyone I meet with words similar to the thread title.

I have an invitation this afternoon to "a bit of a do" with a certain Cambridge Branch of a certain organisation that shall remain nameless. Where I shall be consuming good food and fine wine.

I wore an England shirt on my bicycle commute this morning. Got some odd looks. Danes do give you an odd look if you wear an England shirt. I think it is because their flag has the same design/colours but the other way around, and they go: "that looks like the Danish flag but the other way around". Doesn't happen when I wear other shirts. Oh, the 'King of the Mountains' shirt, I get people pipping their horns and waving as we pass each other.
Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

          Happy St George's Day everyone.

Here, what's all this talk of changing our patron saint? Does it matter if he probably wasn't English and he was slaying dragons rather than saving gay whales?

            Is it today is it?

            It's such a non event....it shouldn't be really.

            How should it be celebrated?

When are we going to have St Georges Day recognised in an official holiday. I don't want to be at work today anyway.

What talk of change? Not heard any of that myself.
No it does not matter that he was not English. He was chosen os our patron because of his virtues not his nationality. And then people say we are racist as a nation.

And did those feet in ancient time
                  Walk upon englands mountains green?
And was the holy lamb of god
                  On englands pleasant pastures seen?
                  And did the countenance divine
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
                  And was jerusalem builded here
                  Among those dark satanic mills?

Bring me my bow of burning gold!
Bring me my arrows of desire!
Bring me my spear: o clouds unfold!
Bring me my chariots of fire!
                  I will not cease from metal fight;
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand
                  Till we have built jerusalem
In englands green and pleasant land.

                    Happy St Georges Day,

I'll be celebrating with a few beers and maybe slaying a dragon or two.
