    Proxy Servers

When I'm on the web in a web cafe, I sometimes go in via a proxy server. Why is it that I can't see certain sites/pages when I'm on the web this way?

Someone told me that the sites/pages I want are 'looking for a server'.

Can anyone explain and is there a way around it?

    Cheers

The HTTP proxy can be configured to provide content and URL filtering (i.e. acts as an application firewall), if they have their firewalls set-up properly then all HTTP traffic will be forced through the HTTP proxy. The more important question is what sort of dodgy content are you trying to access, not one of them bombers are you?
