    Sweet memories

    Just had to fax something and the hissing sound of fax modem connection gave me moment of nostalgie when I was connecting to a BBS and was happy to get 1200 baud connection uninterrupted for good period of time, now I have 25 Mbits down

    Yes, all those bombs and proxy wars and eventually it was the Fax machine that finally brought down the USSR...

        Yes, that Stikkan Anderson and his 'innovative financial solutions'. There is something to be said about the upgrade to the global economy that happened at that time and the effect it had on the USSR. Yet those concepts could not have been transfered at the speed and sans political/ideological interference without the fax machine.
