They can already stop people if they have reasonable suspicion, the difference here is they don't want to have to have any reason at all to stop people.

Its the same with holding people for a month without trial or charge, no need for pesky evidence.

The term "Police state" is bandied about but actually if you can have your front door broken down by a few dozen armed police at 4 in the morning who lock you up (optionally they might shoot you) without charge or trial for weeks then it is a police state.
All that is necessary for evil members to succeed is that good members post nothing

and to avoid accusations of racial bias, you can be sure the police will stop and search large numbers of white people who they can be pretty confident are _not_ suspicious.

          Searched

I got stopped and searched in Liverpool Street under the Terrorism Act 1 year ago. They checked the details I gave them by radio and seached my bag and patted me down.

So they can do it anyway, whats all the fuss about?

Yes, we'll have more of the ridiculous situation where elderly white grandparents are searched at airports while Muslim women (thats assuming they're not really men) wearing veils are just waved through so as not to offend them.

Do a search on “police state” on utube. There is a nice conspiracy theory about this.

                Blairites

well the following seems to depict Balir regime in some way (ironic isn't it!) :

George Orwell's novel Nineteen Eighty-Four describes Britain under a socialist totalitarian régime that continuously invokes (and helps to create) a perpetual war. This perpetual war is used as a pretext for subjecting the people to mass surveillance and invasive police searches. The state destroys not only the literal freedom after action and thought meant by expressions like "freedom of thought", but also literal freedom of thought.

Another "Blair babe" nutter (Hazel Blears) is trying to get Northern Ireland legislation imposed on the mainland.... by the back door.

It appears that the devolved assembly in N. Ireland quite rightly wants to get rid of some of the draconian human rights restricting legislation imposed by British governments.

However, the Blair-Reid mad government wants to reimpose this on the whole UK - with the excuse that Northern Ireland will then HAVE to abide by it anyway.
