    Card fraud

Woke up this morning to find someone had used my debit card details to clean out my account leaving just 15p after multiple online purchases. Obviously an inside job as they knew just what to spend and the cops agree.

The bank of course would not like to admit that one of theirs was responsible so refunded the total amount giving me the option of having it in cash. New account, new card on the way, alternative bank account already open. Pretty easy really.

I hope the ****er catches an STD from whomever he / she meets on match.com.

Had a similar thing a few years ago - a couple of K on the credit card. Halifax seemed really unconcerned - took them a year to finally refund the money.

Of course, at first they only refunded what had been nicked, until I reminded them that they would have to pay me interest - at credit card interest rates of course - 20%.

Drunk on holiday once i had my pin number watched and then card stolen. They went to a few cash machines and cleaned me out and some more. The bank could quite believe that someone could get hold of a PIN number and steal your card to use it ?. Worst part was trying to cancel my card at 3am with a couple of pints in me and a spanish security guard shouting at me and not being very helpful.

Oh well they gave me the money back and all is fine.

Happened to me in 2004 with the Woolwich. The cheeky buggers cut a swathe across every sport and music shop in North London only stopping in Wagamamas for lunch (rounded number showed they left a tip as well!) They got challenged in a branch of gap and legged it.

Bank provisonally reset the balance and after a few months wrote saying they accepted that 'on balance' I hadn't done it.
