Summer holiday (with kids)

Advice needed (a la Benes): We've always gone on vacation outside school holidays time and stayed in some great places.

Due to kids going to school now, we're restricted to July/August.

Ok, I knew peak season would be more expensive, but 3 or 4 times as much for the same hotel?

Any contractor-with-kids tips for out-of-the way places with reasonable prices?

As a contractor who has to move around the country for work, a caravan is a legit business expense - i.e. can be bought on the company and VAT reclaimed - ditto for insurance & storage fees.

A payment for Benifit in kind for private use will be required though

I believe the heirarchy in outdoor living is -in reverse order :

Static - for pikey or Butlins refugees

Tent - for people who can't afford caravans

Trailer Tent for people who can't afford storage fees for a caravan

Small Caravan towed by estate/ saloon car
