People who didn't take the hint and move their money further afield when the EU Savings Directive was introduced deserve everything they get, in my opinion.

Might not agree with his taxation policies (Doubt anyone does in here) but I fully agree with getting those people who think that by moving there money offshore they should somehow be exempt, while everyone else pay's up.

It's not tax avoidance, it's evasion and it's illegal.

So it's okay for Gordo to steal from us but not the other way round?

              Here's one for you.

Why is it okay for someone non-domiciled in the UK (born abroad) to come here and not be taxed on their world wide income, but some poor fecker born here to be taxed on their world wide income?

It would be OK if the original deal was upheld by the government, i.e. we pay taxes and they provide services to the value of those taxes.

The government has rescinded on their part of this deal for many many years. Yet we - out of fear of prosecution - are forced into continually paying the tax whilst receiving nowhere near the level of services that we pay for.

                  That's easy:

                  a) the rest of the world doesn't realise how much tax the poor feckers born in the UK have to pay

                  b) it keeps house prices up, and as everyone knows, that's good for the economy

                  next question!

Don't be a cnvt. Everyone is taxed on their world-wide income by the country where they are tax resident.
