    Security Check

I've just found out that I failed my SC level security clearance which I'm gutted about as my contract's had to be cancelled now. The reason they gave was because I was born abroad (Mexico).

    Anyone else experienced this before?

No, I've never been born in Mexico.

Surely that along can't be reason for declining - are you a British Citizen now?

The yanks have got veto over all our security, and they've never forgotten the Alamo.

I know someone who failed DV for having a German wife, that was outrageous if you ask me... fancy marrying a jerry.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

A German walks into a pub with a parrot on his shoulder. The barman asks "That's unusual, where did you get that?"

The parrot says "Germany. There's millions of the feckers there."

The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

It is strange as I thought fact of being born abroad is not automatic reason for decline in SC, which is surely a fairly low scale in security clearances.
