    You poor sods in London

    Red Ken, Boris and now

Surely Gabriela would be a better candidate than this tw@t?
Why the avatar? Well anyone accused of plotting against Gordon Brown can't be all bad.

He used to date one of the Cheeky Girls. Legendary. I am all for more colourful politicians. I wish we had Arnie in London. Then we could all drive around in Hummers.

Must admit i find this quote quite amusing

          Taki on Cherie Blair

"Not that I'm calling Cherie Blair a whore. She couldn't be one even if she wanted to; not good-looking enough."
Not sure what you point is about Boris though, that one of his reporters printed something racist while he was on holiday? not sure what this is supposed to mean....

            He was the editor!
And the "Gosh" I say, how rude. Blimey! Er, shouldn't have happened, absolutely. I was on holiday, but no excuses, etc." cop-out is a warning par excellence as to the sort of "leader" he'd be.

Bring back Dick Whittington, or even his stuffed cat.

So what was he supposed to say?

I happened when he was on holiday and he took responsibility for it. What else should he have done publically flogged himself for it ?

                Should have resigned.

Would you resign if somebody who worked for you was a tit and did something stupid? I wouldn't, I'd give them a bollocking and tell them not to do it again but why the hell should I resign?

That's the way it works, or used to. Else, there's no "weights and measures" in-place to guard against that sort of thing.

We're not talking about some undergound rag that nobody reads, here.

The "theory" is that the buck stops with the Editor.

And his being on holiday thing: no editor worthy of the name EVER goes on holiday without knowing about every last article being published. I find it hard to believe that this Taki article just slipped-in under the radar.

He hired Taki to get a "radical" writer on-board, but simply failed to control him. His employing Taki is, IMHO, proof of his unsuitability to the, these days, very important, multi-life-affecting role of Mayor of London. Happily, I don't live there... cos Ken's crap, too.
