        funny thing is on the mainland we're paying a Euro a litre that's about 67p a litre for diesel

        how does that work then ?

          It's mostly taxes.

          I remember reading somewhere that unleaded is 17p a gallon in Iran.

            let's say we're paying 70p a litre

            and you're paying 100p a litre for diesel

            that means you're paying over 40% more per litre for diesel,
            yet wages aren't 40% higher in the UK than Germany on like for like
            jobs !
