This just about sums it up

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/6937329.stm

    Okay here we go:

Tighter rules which could force thousands of highly skilled immigrant workers out of the UK are unlawful and must be scrapped, MPs and peers say.

The joint Commons and Lords Human Rights Committee said changes last year to the Highly Skilled Migrants Programme breached human rights.

It said thousands offered permanent residence in the UK now faced deportation, contrary to "fairness".

    Priceless.

The new rules would apply retrospectively to people who are already working here legally under one set of rules. Moving the goalposts when someone has given up their old job, moved country etc. is 'unfair' by any stretch of the imagination. You wouldn't expect the terms of a contract to be changed unilaterally mid-way through.

As long as they don't try any funny tax change laws with retrospective power I don't mind. What? Eh? Oh...

Goal posts aren't on a board. They're on a pitch.
