Yep TalkTalk have been offering the same sort of deal for a couple of years now. So long as you have no need to talk to their customer service desk it's an excellent deal.

No reason to suppose that there are any hidden catches with the Tiscali offering..

I used to call o/s for free using my minutes on my O2 mobile. But the other day I got a text from them saying they are now going to charge 0845 and 0871 numbers at 20p per minute.

I got that text as well. Just when you thought the regulators were trying to clamp down on silly costs and rising charges O2 pull another one out of the bag.

I'm all up for getting rid of mobiles and reverting back to the good old days (when i wasn't born) who will join me in my campaign Bin The Phones

I have an easy solution to that - email their CEO - and you get given the number of a customer support operative in the UK - and a completely different ball game

^ah good ploy! Haven't felt the urge to talk to them recently but I'll bear it in mind for any future outages

I bought an 0845 number so that my number wasn't geographic and customers wouldn't have to pay anything

Looks like I'll have to go back to 05600 (or whatever...)

Ooh I forgot mine last week went I worked away from home for a few days...

Not an experience I'd like to repeat

I had to walk half a mile to find the nearest payphone and felt quite isolated back in my b&b room.

It's a drug - everyone says they don't need them until one day...

If they change their terms and conditions, doesn't that give you an opt out of the contract?

T Mobile do the same. Any 01 and 02 numbers are charged to my 'free' minutes, but all others are 20p per min and I think this includes 0800 numbers which is a big con as the provider is already taking the hit for those calls
