      I'm not surprised Norway is at the top, it may rain a lot, taxes might be on the steep side, but I find I don't run into half the bureaucracy I do when I return home.

        I'm surprised that New Zealand is so low down in the ratings. Or is the fact that they are miles away from everywhere a factor?

          There are a bunch of countries above Britain in that list that have a lot, lot more bureaucracy.

          How do thye come up with this list. Iceland - don't they have just about the worst alcohol abuse rates in the world and eat burried shark meat?

                    Yet again the UK is beaten by the USA, Canada, Australia and Ireland.

                    Where's the source of this data anyway?

                    Don't get too depressed. I do seem to recall that the UK is number one in reduction of personal privacy and freedom. can't seem to recall the link on that one though.
