There are many converts to Islam in Britain according to an article I read. This puts a whole new complexion on the matter (pun intended).

They just like to follow the rules as best they can - you wont see germans crossing the road unless its on green.

I agree with this, but I reckon certain cultures have a tendency to extremism:
the Arabic, German and Japanese come to mind. Cultures that lack nuance.

A newly convert to islam tries to prove that he is devout to his new found relegion,
so he follows core principal of islam which is to kill infidels.
It would save great time for intelligence agencies if newly converts are put on survellience atleast for one year.
