    British policing

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7030653.stm

Officers failed to bring in forensic experts

No photographs were taken of the scene

A proper record of the attack was not made in officers' pocketbooks

Officers failed to contact the Woodhams family for more information

Anonymous phone calls identifying several suspects were not followed up by police

Two sergeants did not adequately manage the scene of the attack

If only the murderers had been trying to escape at 31 MPH they would have had em!

"Shall we follow up on this case?"

"Nah, can't be arsed. Bin it."

    "Pub then?"

"Yeah, we're off duty in a couple of hours anyway."

      Officers required to resign

Interesting, if any private companies employee had made basic mistakes that had resulted in someones death they would be sacked!
Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

Well, look at the perp, look at the victim. The Police officers were put in an impossible situation. What could they do? In trouble if they did anything, in trouble if they did nothing. Sad, but the way the Police are made to work nowadays is the cause. I am sure these are quite professional officers being made scapegoats for the result of government policies.
Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

Why is this a failure of government policies? The details indicate complete incompetence by the police officers.

Yes, and if they'd investigated, the details of the ensuing drama would indicate complete incompetence by the police officers. Damned if you, damned if you don't.

They'd have been better served to do what most other officers do in such a situation and go on the sick so someone else picks up the case, and the next to pick it up goes off sick, and rolls on and on, so no one officer can be fingered for 'failures'.

Actually...you could bring it back to Labour anyways in their attempt to remove personal responsibility from people for their actions has meant that scum like this murderer are a dim a dozen.
