    How miserly are you?

I used to be good at spending money on everything: smokes, drinks, exotic hols, impractical cars, impulse shopping etc. etc. It fairly dripped through my fingers.
Now that I'm older, I find I'm getting as tight as a nun's you-know-what. And part of the reason is that I just hate New Lab so much I don't want to pay their stealth taxes on consumption.
    Hard Brexit now!

    Have you considered HRT?

All money goes to make money in my world.

        Get rich, or die trying.

Actually I think I'm very much the same. A few years back I would spend like money was being devalued as quick as US $.

But no more, and I too will blame Labour taxation policies for that. The good news for me is that while the country is up to eyeballs in debt, I am pretty much high in liquid or easily solvent assets. Time to take advantage when the ship sinks.

I am miserly, but luckily so is the wife. If one person in a marriage is a spender and the other a saver.. its tears.

I am only miserly as I am lazy, the more I save and invest now, the sooner I can stop working.

The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Similar sentiments here, I also let lucky with a wife who apologises after dressing herself and 2 kids for under £20 at Primark.

So true... but don't deny yourself the odd treat now and again eh. I've seen stingy and seriously stingy people. Luckily for many contractors they can have a few luxuries and still stick away 80% of their earnings into investments/savings.

I know some stingy middle class people who shop in Neto/Aldi and buy clothes from charity shops
