    November...

    November
    Thomas Hood, 1844
as heard in The Art Of Noise's "Opus 4"

    No sun - no moon!

No morn - no noon -

No dawn - no dusk - no proper time of day.

No warmth, no cheerfulness, no healthful ease,

No comfortable feel in any member -

No shade, no shine, no butterflies, no bees,

No fruits, no flowers, no leaves, no birds! -

    November!

Can December, January, February and March make you feel any better?
            It's Deja-vu all over again!

On the bright side it means that Christmas is next month. Such a lovely time of year (but then I always was an old romantic, It's A Wonderful Life, etc.)

November - plenty to enjoy about November

                  Fantastic food in season

                  Apples
                  Pears
Broccoli - I'm still getting plenty of Calabrese sprouting
                  Celery
                  Lots of Cabbages
                  Brussell Sprouts just starting
                  Lots of Carrots still growing
                  Leeks
                  Swedes just fattening up

and that's without counting the greenhouse

                  Wild Mushrooms!!!!!!!

                  Rabbits
                  Pheasants
                  Guinea Fowl
                  Partridge

                  I could go on......and on
Si posse, recte, si non, quocumque modo rem

I admit I start to get
                    cheerful in March,
April, May and June are wonderful,
July, August and September are just about tolerable,
October and November start getting bad,
December I can endure because of Xmas and
January and February are just tedious
                    It's Deja-vu all over again!
