A rarity - a good level of service

Got a problem with the car on the way to work this morning. Called the AA at 9:35 from the office. Was told they'd try to be with me by 10:50. Got a call at 9:50 to say AA man was sitting outside the office.

I think that's worthy of a mention, given the low level of expectations we have these days.

I agree. But considering the amout that is paid for breakdown assisstance I would expect this level of service as a norm rather than an exception.

I do object to their "You've got a friend" advert/slogan though
    It's Deja-vu all over again!

I've been very impressed by the service and competence of the AA mechanics in the recent past.

The AA is a marvelous service for £40 a year (with free homestart if you know the trick)
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Register at an address > 1 mile from your home, e.g. Parents house, someone in the AA call centre tipped me off on this one

My last encounter with the AA was worse than rubbish.

It took 4 hours to arrive and the 'mechanic' was a complete dork - he started hitting the engine block with a hammer!!

I said 'WTF are you doing?' he says 'trying to shift a blockage' - I said 'its a Mercedes not a old diesel boat engine' and to stop before he 'tulipped' it.

Got a tow to a MB dealer that fixed the eletrical problem in 30 seconds.

My point is do not let an AA dork near a decent car.

a decent car isn't going to break down
