    How to be a permie

I have thought of these rules so far :-

    1. point the finger of blame
    2. find a scape goat
    3. if no other blame person can be found - the last person to leave gets the blame
    4. best way to advance yourself is to put others down

    Any other I missed?

    5. Be a complete noddy.

    6. Be an unambitious underachiever.

    7. Adopt pack mentality at every turn.
    The pope is a tard.

      8. Employ someone who adds no value to the company and posts on CUK all day (time to use the Batphone)
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

        8. Be a 'company man' (said in an angry Al Pacino voice a la Glengarry Glen Ross).

        9. Whine about people behind their backs and get embroiled in office politics.

Take ownership of the company like it's your property

Work at least 10 hours more than your contracted hours even if you have nothing to do

Arrive early to perform special before 9am work

Socialise with people you can't really stand

I have found that my contract roles are almost 100% easier than permie roles, no comparison, as a contractor you have one thing to do, you can avoid politics, not many people care about you or what you do. When I was a permie I had to cope with some awful politics, people putting each other (teams or departments) down just to look better, point the blame as you said, then had to cope with all the extra-curricular work required to put into your career progression plan , also needed to supervise and train bloody juniors, liaise with some awful HR/marketing/finance to progress simple forms – write year end and mid year self assessment then sit through the bloody review. Do junior’s career plan, training plan, one to one weekly meeting, review all juniors work and get blamed for their stupidity even though I tell them what is required 100 time…

Mate its is sooooo much easier being a contractor, even a noddy can do it

Feel free to break the format of the thread, and post a huge paragraph.

                  - this happens even if you're a contractor
                  It's Deja-vu all over again!

I prefer it if no one cared or paid any attention, as long as I get paid – am happy

Re the thread format, when I started replying the format wasn’t formed yet, only it took me soooo long to write down my reply, by which time the format was formed and it was too late…

Anyho, ya’ll admit it, nothing like contracting, I don’t give 2 figs for anyone here or any of politics, company strategy, company vision and new direction, ladi da a da
