I'd have been more impressed with the BBC article if they'd had a similar article going the otherway - i.e. Global Warming Claim - Skeptic's Rebuttal.

I'm so glad I don't pay the license fee.
Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!

Funnily enough I was discussing with a work colleague about the biased reporting on the BBC website.

It truly is getting beyond a joke now.
Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.
threadeds website, and here's my blog.

Have you actually read the articles quoted above? The first article presents the for-against case and the second attempts to find out what skeptics really believe (albeit in a biased way).

But in any case, why are you getting your opinions from the press? It is a complex issue and you have to go to the various meta analyses, or even the source studies, to at least get a flavour of the scientific arguments for and against - as opposed to the hot air generated on both sides.
            Hard Brexit now!

I think the quotes are there to indicate that the term is unprecise.

Personally, having spent quite a bit of time on reading the literature, I believe that the evidence tends more towards suggesting that man is affecting (I was going to use effecting, but on reflection that's too strong) climate change by his actions.

But whenever I've tried to present the evidence on here, I just get emotional arguments from people who have not invested the time to do their own reserach, most of which boil down to the theme of "not more tax!". Those are actually 2 quite different issues.

Also - very sexist to say only man affects climate change, cows also do it!

Alexei, I worry about you. Discriminating against cows might be considered sexist in the Steppe...
