    Contractors favorite gourmet food.

Got the chore of cooking some nice grub for the Mrs. tomorrow night. Struggling to think of something different to cook. Got a lovely way of cooking steak off from ROBNJC:

get the pan up to heat, add tbsp oil & large knob butter.

rub clove of garlic around pan

season steaks (maldon salt & cracked black pepper) just before adding to pan (or the salt draws the juices out)

cooking depend on thickness of steak but should be rare ( or "á point" if your Froggie!)

    let pan cool

    eat steak.

    later on..

wipe pan with lumps of crusty bread and eat! yummy!
And I know Chef's always talking about food.

So what is your favorite meal to cook and how do you cook it?

    Heat pan up.

    Open tin of beans

    Put bread in toaster

put bread on plate, cover in beans

when pan is empty, run bread around edge of pan

    Fantastic.....

For a slight deviation, you can put an egg on top.

GF cooked the best lasagne I've ever tasted for us last night - had 3rds. I'll have some more of that, given the choice.

Failing that and if left to fend for myself - I'd suggest the nice-and-quick® RH combo of:
          Tuna and Other Stuff
          Take 1 fresh tuna steak
Marinade in whatever you like - soy sauce is nice, but avoid lemon juice as this 'cooks' the tuna.
Set oven to 200c to preheat.
          Cut wedges out of potatoes.
          Place wedges in a bowl.
Liberally sprinkle with paprika, pepper, add a pinch of salt and a splash of extra virgin olive oil.
Mix with hands, coat the wedges evenly.
Place on baking tray, shake to separate wedges.
          Place in oven.
Chop some broccoli/asparagus, put in a pan, add peas or whatever veg you want.
Open a nice Pinot Gris/Blanc blend, pour and quaff liberally.
10min after chucking the wedges in, grab a griddle pan, coat with olive oil.
Whack it on the hob and turn the heat up (med-max)
          .
Chuck some water in the veg pan (not much) and turn hob to max, stick lid on.

When the pan is hot, chuck in the tuna steak. Turn after 3 min, wait another 3 min and should be perfectly cooked, not dried out, and pinkish in the middle.
Take wedges out, chuck on plate.
Drain veg, do likewise, stick some butter on top if you like.
          Put tuna on plate.
Voila - retire to lounge/dining room and munch away.

          Total cooking time: 20min.
          Nutritional value: Quite high.

Just buy some braising steak, chop some veggies, crumble in an Oxo cube abd water and bung it all in the oven for a couple of hours on a low heat.

                  Bongo!
