Was out there in Sept.
We had to rescue a group from a liveaboard.
They were looking for hammerheads off Gordon and the current took them.
Picked them up after they'd been drifting on the surface for an hour and a half just as they were entering the shipping lanes.
Think SMBs are mandatory now.Comment

That happened to me in 2003 out at The Brothers. I had a 2m SMB, buddy had and air-horn but the boat was looking in the wrong direction. Got spotted by a French dive boat in the end just as we were heading off to Saudi somewhere.Originally posted by Pondlife View PostWas out there in Sept.

Mind you, not as bad as the couple iof hours left on the surface in an effing storm in Cuba. Crew went indoors for a wee drinky and when they came out the rain was too bad to see anything. One of those "I am going to die moments" that are not anywhere near as character-building as they say
