    FFS - Climate Change Hotline....

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7101075.stm

Prime Minister Gordon Brown has said there will be a "green hotline" to advise people on what they can do to cut their impact on the environment.
Mr Brown, who said the UK's emission target of a 60% cut by 2050 could be increased to 80%, said he would also seek the end of one-use plastic bags.

In his first speech on the environment as PM he said there would be "hard choices and tough decisions".

But he said Britain could lead the world and gain thousands of jobs.

The new Green Homes Service - a telephone line, website and advice centres - aims to provide a single point of contact for people who want a "home energy audit".

We'll save the world with a hotline and a ban on placky bags. God 'elp us.

I wonder how much it will cost

More immigration and exponential population growth is what's required.

What about a hotline for people to report things that are warming up? Then we could send a task force in to cool them down.

Like the poles. I think we should fill the poles with fridges and leave all the doors open. It'll cool down in no time.

"He said it represented "the biggest improvement in home energy efficiency in our history", with a third of households offered help over the next three years to reduce their emissions."

I bet that is the third who are on benefits. That is, those who they already offer free cavity wall insulation/loft insulation etc.

Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

            I preferred version 1!

              This is only the beginning...

Next up is "Grassline".....nothing to do with the green stuff that grows and has to be chopped down, but more a case of whistleblowing on your neighbours for "actions that may be detrimental to the Climate Initiative Program".

              eg..

"Hello Grassline ? I'd like to report my neighbour. They left their toilet light on for 1 hour last night, and I know for a fact they were all downstairs watching telly on that big 60 inch plasma screen. They also had their gas fire on, but they left the patio door slightly ajar to let Tiddles go back and forth. Think of all that wasted heat. And later on in the evening, they were having rumpy-pumpy for at least 60 minutes, which must have added an extra amount of carbon dioxide to the air. Me and the wife personally like to keep it under 5 mins to do our bit......."

More Snooper's Charter's on their way, methinks...
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
