Some scathing comments on New Zealand

"NZ is closed shop, negative, depressing, violent, abusive, over priced, under paid, over worked. I regret returning, big mistake. 100% pure bull."

I was quite surprised to read so many negative comments about the place from the locals. This is in reponse to an article asking why so many skilled workers leave. Having never been there, NZ is promoted as some kind of south pacific utopian paradise.

It won't put me off holidaying there, but it's interesting to read what the locals think of the place... the comments regarding welfare, high taxes and Labor government are in the same vein as the comments here about the UK.

The value of work continues to decline across the western world. It's a race to the bottom - make the transition into the capitalist class immediately! Free markets for the poor and socialism for the rich!

Not surprising at all. Anyone believing in a utopia on earth needs a reality check.
I am sure if you ask expats from any country about the country they have left.. they are not going to rant how great it is, as it makes them look silly for leaving.

Some of the stuff they say is true, but most of it is talkback radio nonsense.
