    Christmas Board Game

    ok,

i know it sounds cheesy/cheesey but each year we play a board game with a group of friends. We decided to try a new board game each year and I'm looking for ideas on what to get..

most likely 3 or 4 players

    ideas so far are:
    Payday
    Hotel
    Go for broke

    You could try Rummikub.

    It's a bit like canasta.

Hotel is a good one - go for the Boomerang if you have the chance.

      Trivial Pursuit?

Buckaroo if that's too high brow for you.

And there's a word version as well as a number one. Which I find less enjoyable, for what it's worth.

Scene It? Quite a good DVD based game...

If this is a tradition I'm guessing chef has already tried TP.

It depends what your friends are like - would they enjoy Risk/Axis & Allies? Very involving strategy games.

Doesn't that disqualify it as a board game then?

yes TP was 2 years ago

last year was monopoly but 2 of the players are HIGHLY competitive (think board game knocked over and a few hrs sulking just because she landed on hotelled Park Lane)

settlers is a good idea, hadnt considered that one

rules are it must be a board game
