How new is newbie? There is potential here for abuse claims from people receiving unwanted advances who feel they have been around the block a bit.

And what about newbies that do not feel ready for physical contact from avatars they hardly know?

I really do not feel this has been properly thought through.

And it's not terribly British, is it? This whole touchy-feely thing might be all right for the colonials but it still feels a little, well, 'dirty' [ref. recent frotter discussions]. Can't we just smile politely or nod and look away quickly? Perhaps with a small comment on the weather? A hug feels like quite a serious commitment.

Drivelling in TPD is not a mental health issue. We're just community blogging, that's all.

Milan is just trying to be elitist.

            Nice try, but rather clumsy.
