Pah. Why think when you can cheat? Shows intelligence that does.

          Isn't the second one Oder?

ODE (some lines) and a flower (i.e. something that flows) would be the German river the Oder, which flows through Frankfurt.

OK, but the Eder is a river too...

Pretty rubbish clue if you can get two answers and no way to confirm it though.

ALthough, thinking about it, ODE followed by R for run (as in cricket) would be a better fit...

Oder is definitely the better fit. Ode, with R under it. Eder is rather contrived - where does "lines" fit?

Currently attempting the listener crossword. Haven't solved one clue yet.. but that's usual for the listener.

                Cryptic Help needed!

                I've got a toughy....

Jazzman John, say, embracing Heather (9)

                Any Ideas would be appriciated

I'd guess that it'll be the name of some Jazz musician. Made up of the letters from John, as spoken, (perhaps some variant on Jack), or a famous John, surrounding another word for heather, or the surname of a famous "Heather".

                  Got it: Ellington.

Elton (John) surrounding ling ( = "The Heather" ).

Son of God. 5 letters. Begins with 'J'.

I tried Allah but that doesn't work....
