    Need a sub £200 car…..

The neighbour opposite me has built an extension on his driveway, so ability to house 4 cars now down to zilch.

He regularly parks one of his two cars or van on the road on both sides right up to my drive blocking my driveway. Not cool. He also has a lodger with a transit and a clapped out escort, plus his mother, meaning 7 cars and vans littering the street.

Hence I need to get myself a banger to plonk on the road. Nothing I want to tax, insure and all of that, just to park on the road three foot from the end of my drive so I can ensure it is not blocked by a large van, and I have space to swing the car out onto the road.

Got me thinking – as I have a limited company, any tax benefits in getting something like a knackered fiesta van or astramax diesel 2 seater effort, or as I am well to go to the auctions for the cheapest tat going?

Living in England is such a joy.
Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

If you keep it on the road it will have to taxed, insured and MOT'd.

The better plan would be to ask them to stop blocking your drive. And then torch their cars/vans if they don't stop.

Tried asking, remember, these are van driving bozo's, Italian one at that with mafia blackened windows visitors......

He took a woman down outaside his house a few months ago and told the elderly neighbour rescuing her to fluk off, not a guy to mess with.

Hence all I can do is guard my area

A couple of bins and some planks should do the job. This was the tried and trusted method used in a rough part of London I used to live in.

I thought this was going to be an interesting thread about buying a £200 car.

I had a banger once, and it was fun in that I could drive it at dangerous speeds and still be below the speed limit. I didn't need to lock it and was a very practical mode of transport for a while, until the engine blew 6 months after I bought it (the oil level needed checking afterall).

My Mondeo has 130,000 on the clock and I suspect it is worth a lot more to me than I'd get for selling it. It's a great, economical car. I've had the monster raving loony nutter cars in spades and it's nice to have a car that will just get you from A to B without breaking down or collecting speeding tickets.
