    UK living standards outstrip US

    Nice one guys. Next you'll be saying inflation is low.

    GDP is higher maybe, but come on...

    Yes, very sloppy reporting. Raw GDP per capita tells you nothing because, much to Chico's annoyance, everything is relative.

      It's all those eastern europeans joining the workforce and boosting the nations productivity (obviously measured against the feckless half million under 25 on incapacity benefit)...

        So UK earnings = USA earnings now.

        Shame though that every single item or service in the UK is nearly twice the price then.

        eg. Porsche Caymen S

        USA = $59K (£30K)
        UK = £44K

        Film on DVD

        USA = $15 (£7.60)
        UK = £14

          I can say as someone having lived in the US, that we've a long way to go before we reach the standard of living enjoyed in the US.

            If people are like countries, the UK is the council house chav who has got a larger loan than his neighbour across the village pond, so he can buy slightly more goodies from his more expensive next door shop. They're both fecked.
            Hard Brexit now!

              Does that make NZ the poor folks down the other end of the village, away from all the factories and polluted air, living in grass huts with a nice view?
