                How far back was that? In 1981 it was available in my local off licence in Norf London.

                  Early 80s, I think The limitation was always based on how far a horse drawn coach could take the beer in a day, from Masham.

                  Paul Theakston now runs The Black Sheep Brewery, which produces some fine ales too.
