      Reminds me of someone who was was trying to be helpful but actually dropped me in it.

      Secretary to me (with hand over receiver): Can you take this call from so and so.

      Me to secretary: can you just tell the caller that you can't reach me, because I am away on holiday, and that I will ring her back on my return.

      Secretary to caller: my boss has just told me to tell you that she is uncontactable and will call you when she returns from her holiday.

              Actually, I might nick this photo for our next HSE meeting, should raise a giggle or gasp (depending on how seriously the attendees tale the whole farce.)
