    They're all leaving !!

'No other nation is losing so many qualified people, it points out. Britain has now lost more than one in 10 of its most skilled citizens, while overall only Mexico has had more people emigrate.'

    Lies, damn lies and statistics.

How many come back, how many retire - how many go because of the government, and how many go because of the truly sh!te weather etc etc. Like the article says many leave because they can get higher salaries abroad - we should be blaming the private sector ;-)

How may skilled migrants come to Britain blah de blah blah.

Yep, we have suddenly developed skill shortages over the past few years. That's the justification for inviting them all in anyway. Can't have it both ways.

None. It is now officially no longer sh!te due to Global Warming. Mind you, taxes will have to exponentially rise to pay for it, it is only fair.

Hasn't the 'brain drain' been going on for decades?

With the advent of cheap flights and the boom in buying property abroad, I just see it as a natural shrinking of the planet. It certainly feels like a much smaller world out there than even 20 years ago, thanks to technology.

As far as IT is concerned how many people on here have at least tried working abroad, and if you ended up back in the UK, why? Money? Family ties? Nostalgic for familiar territory?
