New generation anti-depressants have little clinical benefit for most patients, research suggests.

The seemingly good result was based more on the fact that the dummy placebo pills produced less of an effect in these patients, rather than on any notable positive response to the anti-depressants themselves.

eh? The drugs worked better than the Placebo, therefore it doesn't work?

              FFS!

This could just be poor BBC reporting but this research sounds like absolute rubbish, having worked on the inside and studied the data, these medications do work. The problem is the way they are prescribed for long term use.
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”
