    Hotspot near Oxford / Swindon

Take a look at the following climate maps.

    Min winter temps:

    Winter sunshine hours

And you'll see a little red "island" of sunny warmth somewhere in the Oxford or Swindon region.

Where is this wonderful place of winter sun and warmth and why does it exist?

    Maybe?

      Possibly Didcot.

Winter warmth perhaps, but high winter sunshine too?

It's where all the people without loft insulation live

          http://www.bothy-vineyard.co.uk/index.html

Bothy Vineyard, established twenty-nine years ago by Roger and Dorothea Fisher, continues an ancient tradition of wine making in the Vale of the White Horse, Oxfordshire, dating back at least to medieval times.

The excellent microclimate, warm sandy soils, long ripening season and mature vines help produce wines of consistent depth and high quality which have won many awards.

Looks like a strange microclimate at Frilford Heath.

Think I'll checkout property there. Who needs Spain for a warm sunny home when I have this on my doorstep.

The disappointment is almost audible. I think DP was up for some pegging.
