    My Lunch (Toasted)

Not in the habit of posting the usual what I had for lunch drivel, but sometimes things in London drive me nuts.

Just bought a falafel sandwich, asked if that was hot or cold and told they could toast it for me. to which I agreed.

Then got charged, and there was an increase - I asked what for and they told me for having it toasted.

The cost of having a sandwich toasted (All of 45 secs), 60p. WTF!?!?!
Hang on - there is actually a place called Cheddar?? - cailin maith

Hot takeaway food has VAT levied on it.

    HTH.

Yes, VAT on takeaway (hot) food was introduced by the Tories. Of course, it's not just the 17.5% on the item, it's all the extra costs that stem from accounting for it.

I got charged 40p for adding 3 slices of tomato to my sandwich last week. This country is going to hell in a handcart!

You're not thinking like a proper contractor.

              60p for 45 seconds is £48 p/h or £384 per day.

If your rate is more than that you've made a profit.

Just charge the client and get over it

Edit: obviously, expense the sarnie as well.

                Is that foreign food ?
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
