    Soviet degrees poll

Below you can see a complete list of modules that I took in my Soviet (well, USSR fallen apart in 1991 year, and my degree years were 1993-98, but lets call it Soviet as education was still solid back then, but took on new disciplines) - look at the range of modules, including those that are really math related - look at hours of lectures. Degree time - 5 years full-time.

Now compare that with what you know about degrees inthe UK and vote in the poll.

Degrees in the UK aren't all the same.

In Scotland first degrees average 4 years.

In England and Wales first degrees average 3 years.

However all degrees will be longer if you do an industrial placement and/or a year aboard in a foriegn country. Also if you do some degrees to get a higher qualification Masters instead a simple Bachelors you need to do an extra year.

Some places you just pay them a little extra at xmas and they give you a masters.
