    Expertise

I have been thinking about expertise today.

So I used to do stuff that I wasn't expert in and as a group of guys we muddled along, worked things out, learned from each other and came to good ways of doings things.

Then I became an expert. Instead of working in a team I lead the team. Instead of muddling things out I did Best Pratice consultancy. Instead of learning from people I taught people. Instead of working things out together I advise on the best solution and take responsibility.

But the second stage only works because you have done the first stage.

Anyone see what I am getting at?

        Oh yes.

You can't put an old head on young shoulders. You're now being paid for all the hours you spent "serving your time".

        Well done.

Not so much. Cos when you stop doing the first your ability at the second stage gradually decreases.

Don't worry about it as you'll find your daily rate increases at probably the same rate...

You get good BAs and young BAs but you don't get good young BAs.
...my quagmire of greed....my cesspit of laziness and unfairness....all I am doing is sticking two fingers up at nurses, doctors and other hard working employed professionals...
