    Anyone got this?

Thinking this would be perfect for kicking around the house with, and for when I am working away overnight in a hotel with wifi.

Just wondering if anyone got and what you make of it?

I've got the EEE PC 701 white, which seems to be the same thing, pretty much. I also broke the "Warranty void if removed" sticker and stuck 2GB RAM in there, reformatted the internal static memory hard drive to free up more space, and installed a load of goodies.

It's great for light use, very quick to start up and shut down (which is VERY good if you are flying, as you don't waste half the flight waiting for your laptop to start), comes with OpenOffice as standard too.

There's loads of forums / blogs / advice out there as well - try http://www.eeeuser.com/ if you want more info about it.

There is an EEE PC 900 due at some stage soon with touch screen if that floats your boat.

Finally, it has inbuilt network port and wifi, but no dial-up modem. I use a USB 3G modem from 3 with no problems though.

        HTH.

They really should have created a new brand name for marketing of goods in the West

I thought it was just me that saw the 'other' four letter word.

                    Options are…

                    2G or 4G.

For just internet surfing, assuming 2G more than ample??

For just £199 for 2G from Dabs, plus of course the VAT aspect for claiming against brolly, has to be worth a pop I reckon!
