    Poker

I've just brought one of these http://www.casino-shop.co.uk/product.php?v_ic=SPE505

for a friend as a moving house present, since he wants to do a poker night a few times a month.

    How difficult is poker ?

Can anyone recommend any Poker programs I can try on my PC to learn the basics and brush up on the rules and stuff ?
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

It's pretty easy to learn the basic rules, and takes a little bit of memorising to get the order of hands right (i.e. straight is better than flush etc)

Like spacecadet said, sign up to one of the major poker sites and play for free online. Don't get tempted into playing for real money 'because you are winning lots', the players in the practise rooms are ofcourse lower standard and the whole dynamics of bluffing etc are ruined because its not real cash.

Depends how good you want to get. Friendly facebook poker will only take you so far as MrRobin has correctly pointed out.

and imagine the fights in the garden afterwards......
