Are contracts on phone intrerviews common, or is it not the norm in the UK?

I voted never, however I did get one contract on the strength of my CV. Had a phone call to discuss the rate and starting date

The point is you never got a face to face interview. The closest you got to an interview was by way of a phone call.Comment

Two phone interviews so far during my current on-the-bench stint, and no contract yet.
I wish they'd just get me in for a face-to-face instead. Still got 100% success with those.Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it

I reckon 75% of my contracts have been phone interview only. Just having a think and my last 5 have been phone interview, can't remember any further back than that.Comment
