    Holiday suggestions

I'm saving up to do Australia in style so this has to be a cheap one (thinking less than £1000 for two of us).

Just want a week somewhere to chill out in the sun, preferably with some nice bars for the evening, going near the end of August.

    I'm open to any suggestions.

the missus and I went to croatia last August - stayed in a town called "porec" flew in to "pula". Can't say enough about the region - Istrian Peninsula. One of the very few places i'd go back to as there is so much to see. Hired a car and drove all over the peninsula and even through slovenia to trieste for the day (italy).

Cheap, very friendly - lots of local wine and culture to sample!

      just a thought!.

        Portugal.

It's cheap, it's close, it's sunny and plenty to see/do if you want to travel around (Which is pretty easy as well, reasonably compact). Easy to do independently or you get decent packages too I think.
Hang on - there is actually a place called Cheddar?? - cailin maith

Isn't it surrounded in all the rubbish etc from the ongoing refuse collection problems in Naples?

You can't go wrong with Southern Portugal.

Unless you have a 4 year old daughter.
