    Anti-Ageism Laws

Have the anti-ageism in the work-place laws introduced in the UK had any effect that you have noticed?

Personally, I think they have had some effect.

Or, maybe zimmer frames are now more common in the work-place!

Quite right. I always insist on my right to leave my colostomy bag on the photocopier and if anyone complains I will damn well see them sued.

Oh cr@p. I thought it was a squeezy chocolate mousse treat....
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Eeyore was very glad to be able to stop thinking for a little, in order to say "How do you do" in a gloomy manner to Pooh.
"And how are you?" said Winnie-the-Pooh.
Eeyore shook his head from side to side. "Not very how," he said. "I don't seem to felt at all how for a long time."

I have noticed that (almost) everyone has stopped asking you how old you are.

This can be a good thing at the start of the recruitment process as it stops biggoted managers putting oldies in the "no" pile without giving them a chance to show that they are capable of doing the job.

Until they turn up at the interview with grey hair and wrinkles.

Fortunately, I don't look my age. (I also know someone who looked 20 years older than she is).
