    Vat on mileage

Does anyone happen to know how much vat we can claim back on mileage now given the ever increasing cost of petrol ?

I remember it being 0.0179 pence per mile but wonder if this has changed

I used to do 2p per mile, but up to the amount you have receipts for which was always a bit less (though with today's prices I guess not).
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

Nothing if you are on the flat rate VAT system.
"The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance." Cicero

        Hi,

Basically you can only recover the VAT on the petrol element, this is currently 10p per mile. So if you did 100 miles this would be 100 Miles X 10p X 7/47 = £1.48 per 100 miles

As Waldorf says no claim if you are on the flat rate scheme.

        Thanks

        Neil
