Credit crunch 'will cause ethnic violence'

The worsening credit crisis could lead to ethnic violence on Britain's streets as jobs become more scarce, one of the country's most senior police officers has warned.
Julie Spence, Chief Constable of Cambridgeshire, said her officers were already struggling to cope with the consequences of migration and warned that if the economic downturn continued, it would heighten tensions in communities with large numbers of migrant workers.

Speaking at the Police Federation conference in Bournemouth on Wednesday, Mrs Spence said: "We do wonder what is going to happen as the credit crunch starts to bite. We have already seen [claims that] 'people are taking our jobs'.

"What does the future hold? We have to be very alive and alert to that as police officers if we want to live in cohesive communities."

Should the esteemed boards members ever be benched for an extended period of time & the Government refused to halt the HSMP-would there ever come a point at which they would consider this ?

Or will it mainly affect the low & semi skilled market?
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

I read this is today's Torygraph - very interesting. She cites violence between Iraqui and Pakistani youths over women as an example of stuff she's having to deal with now.

The bit that I found interesting was "Mrs Spence said in Peterborough alone, 93 cultures were now represented and 100 languages spoken."

100 languages sounds a heck of a lot. I wonder if every dialect is classed as a different language.

Long hot summer, people getting irritated by everything being so expensive, Jobs aren't paying well, house prices dropping, debts rising, someone’s going to get the blame... I predict a riot.

Futurewife thought that song lyric was "I've got tourettes" the first few times she heard it.

                Bless.

Churchill, whats this god particle all about then?

Though he is clearly a nutter I have read somewhere that particle accelerators effectively create mater from energy which must unbalance something somewhere, no-one knows what really happens and its been suggested that we could create another big bang or a mini black hole?? Maybe this has happened before???
