    My Pay Rise: 3%

I was just called into an office to be handed a letter telling me my pay rise this year is 3%. Same as everyone else. What's the point of working hard and trying to be professional if everyone gets the same? I was hoping for at least 10%.

I'm considering giving myself a 17% pay rise from 6k to 7k. I think I'll write a letter to myself tonight.

Because surely 3% of 'your rate' means that ultimately you are getting paid what you are worth for being a professional, and the 3% is to keep it in line with inflation.

Where on earth did you get the idea that working hard has anything to do with pay rises?

Do you mean a rate increase? Or are you a permie?
